Overview

You build the deck. We draw the permit set. Send photos, rough dimensions and the address, and get back a complete PDF set drawn to the IRC prescriptive deck provisions and your jurisdiction's checklist. A standard deck set comes back in 48 hours.

We prepare sets for rear deck replacements, new decks and deck additions, covered decks and screened porches, and patios or pergolas tied to a deck. A typical set runs 8 to 12 sheets, organized the way plan reviewers expect to see them.

Electrical and plumbing on the same set. Ceiling fan, lights, receptacles or an outdoor kitchen on the porch? Because we are an MEP engineering firm, we add the electrical layout, circuits and plumbing or gas lines to the same permit set, so you don't need a second designer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find what you need? Contact our engineering team.

Our sets follow the IRC prescriptive deck provisions that most counties accept for standard residential decks without an engineer's seal. If a job needs a sealed design, such as a hot tub, long spans or a tall or cantilevered deck, we tell you up front and can coordinate a licensed engineer's review, quoted separately.

We prepare sets for builders in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and other states, using the code edition and local amendments your jurisdiction has adopted.

Photos of the house and yard, rough dimensions or a sketch, the property address, the survey or plat if available, and the decking and railing products you plan to use.

Revisions for permit review comments are included. Design changes after approval are quoted before we start.

A PDF set ready to upload to the permit portal. DWG files are available on request.
